FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — An 18-year-old man was arrested after leading authorities on two pursuits in a stolen vehicle before crashing.
Around 10:44 p.m. Sunday, Fond du Lac police officers found a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle from Ripon in the 100 block of E. 12th Street.
Authorities initiated a traffic stop near S. Main Street at 15th Street but the suspect drove off and increased his speed.
Officers lost sight of the vehicle in the area of S. Main Street and East Lane and terminated the pursuit.
The stolen vehicle was spotted again on Birchwood Court.
The suspect again attempted to evade officers and a second pursuit was initiated going north on S. Park Avenue.
An officer deployed a tire deflation device in the area of E. Johnson Street as it continued north on N. Park Avenue.
The stolen vehicle continued northbound into Lakeside Park, but was unable to negotiate the curve at N. Park Avenue and Lighthouse Court and crashed into trees.
The suspect and only occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody. The suspect was treated for minor injuries at the hospital before he was brought to jail.
