GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Three people are without a home after a fire on Green Bay’s west side Friday afternoon.
Neighbors called 911 to report smoke coming from the roof of a home near Colburn Park.
Upon arrival, units saw moderate white smoke coming from the roof vents and eaves.
Crews used thermal imaging cameras to find the fire. They located it in the attic, but the Green Bay Metro Fire Department believes it started from an overheated kitchen fan vent.
The fire was extinguished approximately 12 minutes after crews arrived to the scene.
No one was injured. The fire caused roughly $20,000 in damage.
Green Bay Metro Fire Marshals are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
