“It wasn’t until a few years ago that we said, you know what, as a community, we need to embrace the winter. We need to position ourselves as a winter city, we need to think more strategically about winter programming because people don’t just hibernate in the winter and we want to create reasons and spaces and places that attract people out in the winter months just as aggressively as we do in the summer months,” said President and CEO of On Broadway, Inc. Brian Johnson.
The holiday fun starts as soon as Friday with the first day of the Christkindlmarket On Broadway, back for its third year. The outdoor traditional German-style holiday street market offers food, drink, unique gifts, igloo rentals, live music and other things to get you into the holiday spirit. The market is open Fridays 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Nov. 15 – Dec. 21.
For the opening day of the season, Christkindlmarket will feature a tree lighting ceremony, horse-drawn carriage rides, Copper State keg tapping and Santa and his reindeer.
