OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A major expansion project at an Oshkosh distribution facility has wrapped up, and officials say it will positively impact the community in many ways.
4imprint — a London-based company that provides promotional products throughout the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland — recently completed a 170,000-square-foot expansion at its Oshkosh Distribution Center.
Home to more than half of 4imprint’s 1,600 workers, the now 475,000-square-foot building in Oshkosh will support continued growth, enhance employee amenities and create workforce opportunities, the company says.
“Our existing facility was pretty much getting to capacity and so as we’re planning for future growth, we wanted to stay here in Oshkosh and it was important for us to be here in Oshkosh, so having the site and the existing facility here really dictated the need for the expansion,” said John Lord, chief production and strategic accounts officer with 4imprint.
The expansion kicked off in Nov. 2023. In addition to a significant increase in production space, the expansion includes new office space, a new break area and more meeting and collaboration facilities.
There’s also a comprehensive health clinic with a waiting area, exam rooms, physical therapy space and lab, providing team members with convenient access to on-site healthcare services, often at no additional cost.
We just wanted to maximize the space as best as possible while still being practical about the expansion. It wasn’t going to happen overnight, but we knew we put ourselves in a good position for the future.
As part of the expansion, 4imprint also added to its existing solar array, underscoring the company’s commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.
“Our first array was in 2022 — roughly a one megawatt solar array with over 2,600 panels. We added almost another 1,500 panels to that solar array, and it’s been able to help offset somewhere between 40 and 45% of our electrical demand in this facility,” said Lord.
“Whether it’s the lights or the computers or the equipment, it’s really helping feed that electricity throughout the whole building,” he said. “Any excess energy that’s generated through the array goes back to Wisconsin Public Service for their use on the grid.”
4imprint offers corporate gifts and personalized gifts, such as custom T-shirts, promotional pens, travel mugs, tote bags, water bottles, adhesive notes, custom calendars and embroidered polos.
