MARINETTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man is behind bars after allegedly trying to meet with a teenage girl.
Just before 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Marinette Police Department was dispatched to the area of Shore Drive and Parnell Street “for a group of people confronting an adult male.”
Officers arrived on scene and learned the man, a 25-year-old from Marinette, was allegedly attempting to meet with a 13-year-old female.
The man was taken to the Marinette County Jail, with felony charges related to use of a computerized device to solicit child sex crimes referred to the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office.
His name has not yet been released, pending formal charges.
