TIGERTON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Shawano County man is accused of using a shotgun to assault a female postal carrier while she was on her route.
Earlier this week, a federal grand jury indicted 43-year-old Benjamin L. Joos of Tigerton for assaulting a federal employee.
According to the indictment, on Sept. 24, Joos “knowingly and by means and use of a dangerous weapon, namely a shotgun, did forcibly assault, oppose, impede, intimidate, and interfere” with a female postal carrier while she was performing her official duties.”
If he is convicted, Joos faces a maximum of 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.
