TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were arrested Thursday after a K9 officer alerted police to drugs during a traffic stop.
According to the Two Rivers Police Department, K9 Xanti and his handler conducted a traffic stop in the early morning hours. Xanti detected drugs in the vehicle and a search was initiated.
Syringes containing methamphetamine, tin foil containing cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a digital scale were seized during the search. One male and one female were arrested.
Officials say the woman is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of methamphetamine and a probation hold. The man is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver cocaine and a probation hold.
“This is one of many examples of the hard work done by K9 Xanti on a regular basis. A big thank you to K9 Xanti and his handler for continuing to remove dangerous drugs from Two Rivers!” the Facebook post from TRPD says.
