OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police are asking for the public’s assistance after a woman was robbed in Oshkosh late Wednesday night.
According to a news release from the Oshkosh Police Department, the robbery took place at approximately 10:15 p.m. near Otter Avenue and Broad Street on the city’s east side.
Police say the victim was walking in the area “when two individuals approached her and forcibly stole her backpack.”
The robbers are described as black males wearing dark-colored sweatshirts or hoodies. One or both of the men were wearing dark Nike sweatpants and Jordan-brand sneakers.
Officials say the robbers stole the woman’s black Nike-brand backpack, which contained several items, including a gray Wendy’s restaurant uniform shirt and a red Wendy’s restaurant hat.
OPD is asking community members in the area to check their video surveillance devices for footage of the robbery and/or the thieves. Residents are also asked to be on the lookout for the stolen backpack or uniform items.
