MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A vessel was removed from a Manitowoc property believed to contain hazardous material used to make controlled substances.
On Tuesday, the Manitowoc City Inspections Department conducted a routine inspection at a vacant property in the 700 block of Magnolia Avenue.
During the inspection, a vessel was found to contain suspicious material. The Manitowoc Police Department and the Manitowoc County Metro Drug Unit responded to the property.
Due to the flammability of the combined chemicals involved in the manufacturing of controlled substances, the Manitowoc Fire Department and EMS stood by during the entire investigation process.
The vessel was safely collected by DCI and removed from the area. Further testing will be conducted to determine if the contents are hazardous or consistent with being a controlled substance.
