FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A six-year-old boy is dead after he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday in Fond du Lac.
It happened just before 6:25 p.m. in the 300 block of Grove Street.
Police say their investigation into this crash is still in its preliminary stages, but it is believed the six-year-old boy rode his bike into the street and was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Grove Street. A 41-year-old Fond du Lac man was behind the wheel.
The child was transported toSSM Health – St. Agnes Hospital with life-threatening injuries, but later died at the hospital.
The vehicle’s driver was uninjured and is cooperating with law enforcement.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting the Fond du Lac Police Department with accident reconstruction.
An investigation is ongoing.
