OUTAGAMIE CO, WI (WTAQ) – A 56-year-old man from De Pere sustained severe injuries after being struck by a vehicle.
It happened Sunday just after 2:30 a.m. on County Trunk E, according to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office.
They say a 33-year-old Oneida man struck the man who was riding the bicycle.
The bicyclist was transported to a local hospital for his injuries.
Police say alcohol is believed to be a factor. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, was arrested on charges of Operating While intoxicated — Causing Injury and Hit and Run — Causing Injury.
County Trunk E was closed for about five hours before being reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
