FOND DU LAC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) โ A felon wanted in connection with several ongoing criminal investigations is in custody after a standoff with police Monday.
Officials say the 23-year-old man was released from jail in Dec. 2023. Since then, he has become a person of interest in two thefts, a burglary and a sexual assault, with a felony probation and parole warrant.
Police first located the man Saturday on his bicycle near Hamilton Park. A foot chase ensued and the man got away.
Shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, officers again tracked down the man, this time outside a residence in the 100 block of Hamilton Place.
When police approached the man, he entered a side door of the residence. Officials say the occupants of the home โwere not cooperative.โ
With help from the Fond du Lac County Sheriffโs Office and one of their K9 units, the Fond du Lac Police Department set up a perimeter around the home and deployed the Technology Response Group to utilize the drone.
Negotiations lasted about 90 minutes before the man surrendered. He was arrested and is currently being held at the Fond du Lac County Jail. Police did not release the manโs name.
