MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) โ An expected plea deal for Katrina Baur, the mother of missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue, did not happen Thursday.
Baur faces four counts, including chronic neglect of a child and neglecting a child.
At a previous hearing, the attorneys said a plea hearing would be held Thursday, but in court, defense attorney Ann Larson said there are two items which need additional investigation, so the hearing was rescheduled for July 26.
Manitowoc County District Attorney Jacalyn LaBre did not object to the delay.
No specific details about those items were divulged in court.
Baur left her son with Jesse Vang. Vang reported the child missing Feb. 20. Despite extensive searches, the boy has not been found.
The Two Rivers Police Dept. said Thursday it had nothing new to report in the search efforts.
Vang and Baur were charged a week after Vueโs disappearance with child neglect charges related to the conditions of the home and treatment of the boy. Prosecutors say she left her son with her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, at his Two Rivers apartment, for โdisciplinary reasons.โ
No one has been charged in connection with the boyโs disappearance. Vang returns to court Sept. 27 for a status conference; no trial date has been set.
