TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Manitowoc man has been charged for allegedly stabbing a woman multiple times on the Fourth of July, officials said Monday.
Calvin Eis, 62, of Manitowoc, is being held at the Manitowoc County Jail on a $500,000 bond. He faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated battery, strangulation/suffocation and possession of a scheduled II narcotic.
According to a news release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office, authorities were dispatched on July 4 to a home in Two Rivers for a report of a female who had been stabbed.
When officials arrived on scene, they found two individuals on the property with stab wounds.
One victim, a 51-year-old woman, was located in the backyard “with multiple stab wounds and other injuries.” Another victim, identified as Eis, was located inside the home with a stab wound to his abdomen. Authorities later determined that wound was self-inflicted.
Both individuals were transported by ambulance to receive medical care. Eis was arrested.
The Sheriff’s Office says this was an isolated incident and the community is not in danger. An investigation is ongoing.
