(WTAQ-WLUK) — A Flash Flood Emergency has been issued for Manawa in Waupaca County and Appleton in Outagamie County.
Thunderstorms moving across the area are producing heavy rain.
Manawa Dam operators reported an imminent failure of the dam, causing flash flooding downstream on the Little Wolf River.
If you live down river of the dam, you are being asked to evacuate.
Between 1 and 3.5 inches of rain have fallen. 4.1 inches of rain has been recorded near Manawa since 8:30 a.m. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
The city of Manawa is reporting flooded streets. The Manawa High School is serving as an emergency shelter.
The Mid-Western Rodeo in Manawa is also canceled due to flooding.
New London, near Manawa, also has some street flooding.
Other parts of Northeast Wisconsin are under flood advisories.
Street flooding is appearing in other areas such as Appleton.
