TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Police are warning Two Rivers residents to be alert and take precautions following several vehicle break-ins and attempted break-ins.
According to a Facebook post Monday, the Two Rivers Police Department has received “numerous reports” of two individuals entering and attempting to enter vehicles. Officials say the incidents happened on the north side of Two Rivers in the area of Mishicot Road between 4 and 5 a.m. Saturday.
Both suspects are described as younger males, possibly in their teens or early twenties.
The first suspect appears to be a white male wearing a blue sweatshirt with white writing, and a black hood with black pants. The second suspect appears to be a black male wearing a green jacket with a black hood, and black pants with a white stripe down the leg.
Anyone with information related to these vehicle entries, or regarding the identity of either of the suspects, is asked to call (920) 793-1191 or (920) 686-7200 and ask to speak with a shift commander.
Police say that while Two Rivers is a “very safe” community, the warm summer weather generally brings about “an uptick in these crimes of opportunity.”
To help prevent yourself or your neighbors from being victimized, follow these tips from Two Rivers police:
- Routinely lock the doors to your vehicle, garage and residence.
- Park in well-lit areas with cameras, if possible.
- Keep your valuables secured and out of sight.
- If you see something suspicious, report it immediately.
