MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The mother of missing 3-year-old Elijah Vue plans to change her plea in her child neglect case, her attorney said Monday.
A judge set Katrina Baur’s plea hearing for July 18. The attorneys also discussed a future sentencing hearing, implying that Baur’s plea will result in her conviction.
Baur, 31, faces child neglect and resisting or obstructing an officer charges.
Prosecutors say she left her son with her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, at his Two Rivers apartment, for “disciplinary reasons.”
Vang reported Elijah Vue missing on Feb. 20. The boy has not been seen since.
Vang, 39, is also charged with child neglect. He appeared in court last week, where defense attorneys said they were still waiting for evidence to be turned over.
Also last week, Two Rivers police said that they were confident the boy would eventually be found.
Neither Baur nor Vang has been charged in connection with the 3-year-old’s disappearance.
