MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Jesse Vang, the caregiver who reported Elijah Vue missing on Feb. 20, was back in court Friday, but no trial date has been set as the defense is still waiting for evidence to be turned over.
Vang, 39, faces one count of chronic neglect of a child for his alleged mistreatment of the missing 3-year-old boy. Vue’s mother, Katrina Baur, faces similar charges.
In court Friday, the defense attorney asked for another status conference, as he will need time to review evidence which he has yet to receive. Another status conference will be held Sept. 27.
Meanwhile, Baur returns to court Monday for a scheduling conference. At her last appearance, attorneys suggested a “resolution” to the case may be near.
Neither Baur or Vang have been charged in connection with Vue’s disappearance.
Earlier this week, Two Rivers police said the searches for Vue continue.
