MENOMINEE, Mich. (WTAQ-WLUK) โ A U.P. man is facing numerous felony charges, accused of throwing a Molotov cocktail at an occupied home in Menominee.
45-year-old Frank Samuelle Buelteman was arraigned Monday, where a $250,000 cash bond was set. A news release from the prosecuting attorneyโs office says Buelteman is charged with terrorism, three counts of assault with intent to murder and three associated felonies.
Officials say on Friday, the Menominee Police Department were dispatched to 1236 West Drive for a โfire bombโ complaint. Officers determined a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at the residence. Two individuals were sitting on the homeโs back porch and another person was inside.
The resulting fire was extinguished with a garden hose by one of the victims, who reported that he โfelt the heat [from the explosion] on his face and smelled the fumes.โ
Surveillance video provided to the MPD by a neighbor showed a man throwing a Molotov cocktail at the West Drive residence and it landing by the porch, officials said. The neighbor identified the suspect as โFrankieโ and officers later determined it was Buelteman. He was quickly located and arrested in a shed at 2112 11th Avenue.
Officers observed that Buelteman was wearing the same green pants as depicted in the video; additional distinctive items of clothing were found and seized, in addition to a container of gasoline.
In the news release, Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey T. Rogg called Bueltemanโs actions โreprehensibleโ and โa targeted act of terrorism.โ
