(WTAQ-WLUK) — The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has issued an ozone advisory on Wednesday for over half a dozen counties across the state, including several in Northeast Wisconsin.
An orange-level advisory is in place Wednesday from noon to 11 p.m. in the following counties: Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Kewaunee, Door, Kenosha, Racine, Milwaukee and Ozaukee.
Orange-level advisories are issued when the air quality index is expected to reach the “unhealthy for sensitive groups” level.
Children, older adults, people with lung disease such as asthma, and those who are active outdoors (including outdoor workers) are encouraged to reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.
