Appleton Fire Department (Fox 11 Online)
APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A business fire caused about $250,000 worth of damage in Appleton.
Around 11:30 a.m., crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 800 block of N. Meade Street Tuesday.
The call indicated smoke was filled the building and no flames were visible.
Upon arrival, employees were evacuating the building.
Crews later found the electrical panels were on fire. The fire was brought under control within one hour.
The 800 block of E. Wisconsin Avenue and the 1200 block of N. Meade Street were closed to traffic while fire crews were on scene.
Firefighters are working to determine a cause.
The Appleton Fire Department is reminding residents to know two ways out of every room. It is important to know two ways out in case one is blocked or dangerous.
