LAKE HALLIE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay man with a felony warrant was arrested Tuesday in western Wisconsin for operating while intoxicated, and police also found drugs inside his stolen vehicle.
According to the Lake Hallie Police Department in Chippewa County, an officer was dispatched to a Kwik Trip just before 4 a.m. “for an individual inside a vehicle acting strange and possibly on drugs.”
Upon arrival, the officer located a vehicle with its hazard lights on attempting to back up and leave the gas station. The officer stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Julian Webster, 29, of Green Bay.
The officer observed Webster had watery and bloodshot eyes and was slurring his words. He also detected the odor of intoxicants coming from Webster’s breath. Although Webster agreed to field sobriety testing, he refused a preliminary breath test.
During a search of Webster’s person, the officer found two bags of a white powdery substance and multiple more bags of white powdery substance inside the vehicle totaling approximately 20 grams of suspected cocaine along with approximately 18 grams of suspected marijuana and six THC cartridges.
Additionally, the officer learned Webster had an active felony warrant. Police later determined the vehicle he was driving was stolen from Barron County.
Webster was arrested for the following:
- Operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated – 1st offense
- Operating a motor vehicle while revoked
- Failure to install ignition interlock device
- Possession with intent to manufacture/deliver Schedule I and II narcotics
- Possession of marijuana
Officials say Webster was transported to a hospital and the officer obtained a search warrant for Webster’s blood. He was then transported him to the Chippewa County Jail for processing.
“The results of the blood test will not be known for several weeks, as it will be sent to the Wisconsin State Hygiene Laboratory,” a news release states.
