MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Make sure to keep mowing your lawn if you live in Manitowoc.
The city is reminding residents that it is not participating in No Mow May. Violations of the city’s noxious weeds ordinance will result in one notice. Subsequent violations can result in a fine of up to $300 for each occurrence.
No Mow May aims to create food sources for pollinators such as bees.
Some communities, such as Green Bay and Oshkosh, participate in No Mow May, but property owners may be required to register or display signs. De Pere and Fox Crossing, on the other hand, decided not to allow No Mow May this year.
