GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A local non-profit organization launched its new program Tuesday with an event that used art to promote inclusivity.
CP’s “All Included” campaign is designed to further serve adults and children with disabilities in the Green Bay area and foster an inclusive community for all. Officials say the program will feature various events and projects throughout the year.
On Tuesday, CP clients and staff — along with volunteers from the Fine Arts Institute at East High School — participated in the first program’s inaugural event. It was a collaborative art experience led by the Urban Cultural Arts Center.
Artwork created will be put on display throughout the community, at locations such as Kavarna Coffeehouse, The Mulva Cultural Center and Nicolet National Bank. Additionally, some of the art pieces will be auctioned off at CP’s Game Changers fundraiser in November.
CP Annual Giving Coordinator Maddy Szymanski said the goal of All Included is to celebrate the talents and capabilities of every individual in Northeast Wisconsin.
“We’re really focusing on the unique abilities of our clients here and highlighting all of the things that they like to do in the community,” said Szymanski.
We’re showcasing individuals for who they are as a person and not a diagnosis. We’re positioning ourselves out in the community for all of the great work that we do here at CP, as well as how capable and involved our clients are.
Other upcoming All Included events and projects include a Disability Pride Month celebration in July, brewing beer with Zambaldi Beer and opening a CP shop that will sell items created by clients.
“We’re really focusing on building a future where everyone’s included and involved, and that’s what All Included is all about,” said Szymanski. “Highlighting how everyone can be a part of Northeast Wisconsin and come together for collaborative events like this one.”
