TWO RIVERS, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A man suspected of burglary and vehicle theft is facing charges in two Northeast Wisconsin counties following an incident in Two Rivers.
At 8:15 a.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 1800 block of School Street for a report of a man attempting to enter vehicles. Information provided by a witness led officers to the 2100 block of Washington Street, where contact was made with Tyler Yoder inside a business.
Police say Yoder became combative with officers. He was arrested for operating while under the influence (2nd offense) and cited for open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and retail theft.
Additional charges of resisting an officer, felony bail jumping, misdemeanor bail jumping and operating a motor vehicle without owner’s consent will be referred to the Manitowoc County District Attorney’s Office.
Further investigation revealed Yoder was the primary suspect in a case in Brown County of a stolen vehicle and burglary to a business. Yoder was transported to the Brown County Jail.
Online court records show he is facing felony charges of burglary and vehicle theft, along with misdemeanor charges of retail theft, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
An investigation is ongoing.
