GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A special green and gold bus will surprising Green Bay Packers fans across Wisconsin.
Players, staff and alumni kicked off the annual Packers Tailgate Tour Tuesday.
The five-day road trip will travel from Green Bay to southern Wisconsin to visit with fans and thank them in person for their support.
Along the route, the tour will visit schools, hospitals, businesses, retirement homes, event venues and community centers to present donations and giveaway items and visit with fans of all ages
This year current players Elgton Jenkins, Kenny Clark and Rasheed Walker will be on board and alumni players Bryan Bulaga, Mike Daniels and Alex Green will join, along with Packers President/CEO Mark Murphy.
Murphy says it’s a great opportunity to meet fans and for current players to be around former players.
“I just love seeing especially the young kids, how excited they are when our players walk in the building and seems like a lot of high schools this year and every stop along the way, even the meals are fun, everybody, obviously when the bus pulls up, it’s pretty noticeable,” Murphy said.
Defensive lineman, Kenny Clark, says he’s looking forward to meeting with some of the team’s youngest fans.
“It’s going to be awesome. I’ve been in California this whole offseason so just being able to be back in Wisconsin, see some fans and all that kind of stuff is going to be cool,” he said.
The Tailgate Tour will stop in Kenosha on Tuesday, Beloit on Wednesday, Platteville on Thursday and Sun Prairie on Friday before returning to Green Bay on Saturday, with a variety of surprise and planned visits to be held in each area.
Some stops are ticketed events. Click here for more information.
