GRAND CHUTE, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region reminds motorists of interstate, highway, and ramp closures as part of the I-41 Expansion Project in Outagamie County and the I-41 Rehabilitation Project in Winnebago and Outagamie Counties.
As part of the I-41 expansion project, the following will close this week:
Monday, April 8 through Thursday, April 11 from 11 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- I-41 northbound and southbound lanes, a full closure, is scheduled between Wisconsin Ave. and Richmond Street
- Detour: SB I-41: Take WIS 47/Richmond Street south to WIS 96/Wisconsin Avenue. Turn right and head west to SB I-41.
- Detour: NB I-41: Take WIS 96/Wisconsin Avenue east to WIS 47/Richmond Street. Turn left and head north to NB I-41.
In addition, the following ramps will be closed, nightly, Monday through Thursday
- NB I-41 entrance ramp from WIS 96 CLOSED 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- NB I-41 exit ramp to WIS 15 CLOSED 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- NB I-41 entrance ramp from WIS 15 CLOSED 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- NB I-41 exit ramp to Richmond Street CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SB I-41 entrance ramp from Richmond Street CLOSED 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- SB I-41 exit ramp to WIS 15 CLOSED 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Drivers can also expect reduced lanes on NB I-41 between County BB and WIS 96 and on SB I-41 between Ballard Road and Richmond Street, nightly, Monday through Thursday.
- Capitol Drive over I-41 between N. Capitol Court and Northridge Lane is closed until August 2024.
As part of the I-41 Rehabilitation Project the following will close this week:
Monday, April 8 | NB I-41 at WIS 114/County JJ Interchange CLOSED 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.
- Detour: NB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114/County JJ and re-enter via NB on-ramp from WIS 114/County JJ
- SB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 CLOSED 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 114 CLOSED 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Tuesday, April 9 | NB I-41 at County II Interchange CLOSED 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
- Detour: NB I-41 off-ramp to County II and re-enter via NB on-ramp from County II
- SB I-41 off-ramp to County II CLOSED 3 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from County II CLOSED 6 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Wednesday, April 10 |NB I-41 at College Avenue Interchange CLOSED 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- Detour: NB I-41 off-ramp to College Avenue and re-enter via NB on-ramp from College Avenue
- SB I-41 off-ramp to WIS 114 CLOSED 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- SB I-41 on-ramp from WIS 114 CLOSED 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
