GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — Wisconsin Public Service continues to repair widespread power outages caused by heavy, wet snow and damaging winds.
WPS crews have restored service to more than 30,000 customers since Tuesday afternoon. However, new outages continue to be reported Wednesday, adding to the impact of this storm.
Crews are addressing these new outages as well as those reported Tuesday. They are encountering substantial damage — including more than 800 reports of problems with utility poles, downed power lines and trees falling into electric equipment. Crews are also dealing with snowy roads and slick conditions as they work as safely and quickly as possible.
All available crews, including additional outside crews, are working around the clock to make repairs and restore power to all affected customers.
As of 1 p.m., WPS was reporting more than 79,000 customers without power, including more than 19,000 each in Marinette and Brown counties and 13,000 in Door County.

WPS customers can report their outage and receive updates about the progress of repairs by using the WPS app or online. Customers are strongly urged to stay at least 25 feet away from any downed power lines. Report downed power lines to WPS or a local law enforcement agency immediately.
