MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Elijah Vue has not been found, the Two Rivers Police Department said Thursday, in the first update in the case in ten days. Meanwhile, Thursday’s search efforts used dozens of drone teams to assist in the search.
Vue, 3, was reported missing Feb. 20. Despite extensive searches, the boy has not been found. His mother, Katrina Baur, and Jesse Vang – who was caring for Vue and reported him missing – face chronic child neglect charges but are not charged in his disappearance.
Police Chief Ben Meinnert posted an update on social media Thursday.
“Today we executed another large search operation utilizing drones. Approximately 70 teams of drone operators, primarily from police departments and sheriff’s departments from all over the state, took part in this operation. Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), Two Rivers Police and Two Rivers Fire Department assisted in checking areas of interest with cooperation of landowners. Thank you to Hope Church for providing lunch and the space for all the personnel and equipment involved,” he said.
Meanwhile, Meinnert encouraged other searches to continue.
“We encourage participation in coordinated and legally permissible search efforts for Elijah. We have also remained in contact with Elijah’s family with assistance from DCI regarding the efforts of our searches,” he said.
