MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A 41-year-old man was taken into custody following a SWAT response to a standoff in Manitowoc.
Just before 4 a.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Hamilton Street for a report of a family disturbance.
When officers arrived, they found a man the residence at an exterior door.
Because officers saw a possible firearm, a perimeter was established around the 1300 block of Hamilton as a safety precaution.
A drone was used to monitor the suspect outside the residence while officers on scene continued giving verbal commands for the subject to surrender.
Due to the suspect not complying with commands, the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office assisted with their BearCat armored vehicle and used a public address system to give continued commands.
The man ultimately complied with commands and was peacefully taken into custody.
The man was taken to the Manitowoc County Jail on recommended charges of disorderly conduct-domestic violence and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.
