(WTAQ-WLUK) — Do changing technology and the labor market have you thinking of changing careers? If so, you might be in the right region. Two Northeast Wisconsin cities were ranked among the top 100 cities for a career switch in a recent survey.
Careerminds.com surveyed 3,000 professionals considering a career switch to come up with the cities that have the most appeal.
Appleton ranked 18th in the survey. According to the survey crew:
Part of the Fox Cities metropolitan area, Appleton boasts a strong economy with sectors like paper manufacturing, healthcare, and insurance. The city offers a vibrant arts scene, including the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, and numerous community events throughout the year. Appleton’s family-friendly atmosphere, quality schools, and emphasis on community engagement make it suitable for those seeking a dynamic yet manageable urban environment.
Oshkosh came in at No. 29. According to the survey:
Known for hosting the annual EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the world’s largest aviation gathering, Oshkosh has a diversified economy with strengths in manufacturing, education, and healthcare. The city offers a variety of cultural institutions, parks, and community events, making it attractive for families interested in a community with a strong sense of identity and opportunities for engagement.
One Wisconsin city made the top 10. Here’s how Eau Claire, ranked 10th, was cited:
Known for its strong emphasis on arts and music, Eau Claire has a diversified economy with strengths in healthcare, education, and manufacturing. The city hosts numerous cultural events, including the Eau Claire Jazz Festival and the Eaux Claires music festival. Eau Claire’s commitment to community development, along with its beautiful parks and recreational opportunities along the Chippewa River, make it ideal for families seeking a vibrant community with a high quality of life.
One more Wisconsin city was listed, La Crosse at No. 32.
The top three cities on the list were Asheville, North Carolina, Pasadena, California, and Oviedo, Florida.
