GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Voting is open in a contest that celebrates young artists and black history.
Members of the Boys & Girls Clubs across the U.S. are participating in the 5th annual Black History Month Art Contest.
Kids created original pieces of artwork representing influential Black STEM icons. These included historical figures, world leaders, scientists and educators who made vital contributions to the world of science, technology, engineering and math.
Each club that participated, including the Boys & Girls Club of the Bay & Lakes Region, selected their top ten pieces of artwork that are displayed online and can be voted on by the public.
You can vote for your favorite art piece here.
The top three vote-getters will be announced in late February and prizes include gift cards in the following amounts:
$250 for 1st Place
$150 for 2nd Place
$100 for 3rd Place
New to the 2024 contest, the top three first-place submissions with the most votes will also be named national winners and will receive an additional $250, bringing their total winnings to $500, while their home Club will also receive a $1,500 donation.
