GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary unveiled a new art installation this week that pays tribute to two beloved orphaned otters.
Sammy and Sadie lived at the sanctuary from 2008 until July 2022, when they died within days of each other.
“They were found in a cranberry bog in Tomah, and mom was gone,” said Curator Lori Bankson. “They were brought to us at about one week old in 2008.”
Artist Kent Hutchison created the interactive piece.
Bankson says it will be used for education and as a way to continue their mission as animal ambassadors.
The art was officially dedicated on Tuesday at the Woodland Building entrance.
