MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WRN) — More reaction to the weekend march by a small group of neo Nazis in Madison.
Attorney General Josh Kaul said their views have no place in the state of Wisconsin.
“With most of those individuals wearing masks because they know that their views are anathema to decent Wisconsinites everywhere,” said Kaul. “And we see it in their ideology, which is rooted in a fear of people who are different.”
Kaul spoke at a Capitol press conference regarding some good news – $65 million will be distributed to public libraries across the state to help purchase new books, technology and other educational materials.
Wisconsin Superintendent of Public Instruction Jill Underly also addressed the event.
“When we saw neo Nazis on the street of the city this weekend, it was a manifestation of hate and fear,” said Underly. “This disgusting extremism can only grow in spaces of ignorance. That is how it festers.”
