LITTLE CHUTE, WI (WTAQ) — Something new is coming to Van Lieshout park in Little Chute.
The Village of Little Chute is currently in the design and engineering phase of the splash pad project. While an opening date is not yet set in stone, officials hope it will be ready in 2024.
“We would like to see it’s completion sometime around the end of July or early August, that way we can still operate for a little bit,” said Little Chute’s Park, Recreation and Forestry Director John McDonald. “It’ll give our maintenance staff an opportunity to see it work, and work all the kinks out.”
The 2,900 square foot splash pad will include over 15 different spray features, tipping buckets, a ship feature, and waterguns. Additionally, pathways will be built between the playground and splash pad for easy access.
To tie in Little Chute’s Dutch heritage, the splash pad will have a tulip theme.
The splash pad was designed with kids of all ages in mind; with some areas designed for those ages 0-3, while other areas cater to kids ages 4 and older.
Cost of the project is $750,000.
There will be no cost to visit the splash pad.
