WISCONSIN (WTAQ-WLUK) — More than a dozen organizations that help Wisconsin veterans and their families across the state will receive grants, including two in Northeast Wisconsin.
Gov. Tony Evers and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) announced $424,970 in grants to 13 nonprofit organizations Thursday.
Both Fox Valley Technical College and Lakeland University will receive entrepreneurship grants.
“As a state, Wisconsin is a national leader in providing for our veterans, and we continue to strive to provide our nation’s heroes with the support and resources they’ve earned through their service,” said Gov. Evers. “These organizations do great work, ensuring Wisconsin’s more than 300,000 veterans and their families have the services they need to be successful, and they deserve to be recognized for being a vital part of ensuring our veterans are cared for and uplifted.”
The grant recipients are:
- Fox Valley Technical College – $99,970
- Lakeland University – $75,000
- Center for Veterans Issues Ltd. (CVI) – $25,000
- Great Lakes Dryhooch – $25,000
- Herzing University – $25,000
- Indianhead Community Action Agency Inc. (ICAA) – $25,000
- Milwaukee Homeless Veterans Initiative (MHVI) – $25,000
- The Highground Veterans Memorial Park – $17,500
- Trinity Equestrian Center Kids Kamp Inc. (Trinity) – $25,000
- University of Wisconsin-Superior Foundation – $25,000
- Wisconsin Veterans’ Network (VetsNet) – $25,000
- Wisconsin Hero Outdoors – $7,500
- Milwaukee County War Memorial Inc. – $25,000
