GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A popular food truck in the Green Bay area, known for its smash burgers, is adding a permanent restaurant.
Bay Area Burger Co. cut the ribbon on its new Broadway location this evening. It is next-door to the Sardine Can.
The food truck launched in 2020 during the pandemic.
Cole Ductan, the owner, says sales spiked in 2021, leading to the decision to add a storefront.
“It is a one-of-a-kind burger, best burgers around. I wanted to be true behind that name and really claim the best burger around. That is why I wanted to go into the storefront and move from the food truck and really make a statement.”
The food truck is also staying. In fact, an additional truck has also been purchased.
Ductan says he is thinking about shifting the focus of the original truck to desserts.
