OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — The Packers will have an early kickoff for their matchup in London against the New York Giants. Due to the time zone difference kickoff is taking place just after 8:30 am, right when a lot of people will be at church.
Rev. Cathy Weigand is the Pastor at Algoma Boulevard United Methodist Church in Oshkosh.
“I’ve been surveying churches in Wisconsin for the past 25 years, and we learned early on that it’s hard to schedule around Packer games,” Weigand explained on Fox 11’s ‘Good Morning Wisconsin’.
She’s changed up their schedule for their October 9th service.
“We’ll welcome everybody and have some great music, and then we’ll be worshipping during the two-minute commercial breaks,” Weigand said.
They’ll also have a number of relevant snack options: bagels and apples to represent the New York Giants, scones and tea to represent London, and for Green Bay? Cheese.
For those who prefer a traditional service, they’ve also ensured one will be available that morning at 10:30.
