GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Preparations are happening Monday around Lambeau Field ahead of the big weekend.
Fans are already feeling the difference around Green Bay.
Team USA Snow Sculptors are chipping away at a snow mound outside of the Lambeau Field Pro Shop.
Artist, Tom Queoff says the team of men is honored to carve up some fan excitement.
“This is our fifth time. I think that we are carving up here at Lambeau for the playoffs, and I feel like this is the year,” said Queoff.
After a whole day’s work, the packed snow will read “Go Pack, Go!”
A football helmet will sit on the west side of the stadium.
“It just adds a little ambiance around the stadium for a little winter fun,” said Queoff.
Packers fan Joe Fahey watched the snow sculptors work their magic.
“You can just feel that something big is coming and so it’s really cool to be here,” said Fahey.
Fahey took a weekend away from his home in Madison to enjoy the wild card action.
He says his timing couldn’t be better, he still feels the playoff atmosphere ahead of the busy crowds.
Fan engagement manager Haylee Helmle says the Packers organization has a big week planned.
“We’re kicking things off starting with Letters to Lambeau. We’re giving away tickets on our social media platform,” said Helmle, “On Wednesday we have sweepstakes, Thursday the pro shop is doing a giveaway and Friday we are inviting all fans to join us for a pep rally at the Johnsonville tailgate village.”
“Feels great, feels like we’re ready for a big game coming up,” said The Kieckbusch Family.
The family says they feel the excitement, and appreciate that the Packers make celebrations accessible even for them in Brookfield, WI.
The Kieckbusch’s and Fahey agree, it’s a good week to be a Packers fan.
