GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A Green Bay Doctor is pushing for additional masking.
Dr. Brad Burmeister with Bellin Health says higher case counts and hospitalizations justify additional precaution, even at places like Lambeau Field.
“A week ago we had 44 people and the hospitals and today we have 63,” Burmeister said. “A week ago we had 15 patients in the ICU and this week we have 20.”
Burmeister praised the Green Bay School Board’s decision to mandate masks for all students and staff to start next year.
“The healthcare community, the pediatricians, you know, all of the public health experts give us strong recommendation to encourage masking for all,” Burmeister told Fox 11 News. “Regardless of vaccination status, in schools.”
Burmeister again stressed vaccinations for those that haven’t yet had one.
