GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ) — The Greater Green Bay YMCA is celebrating its 150th birthday this weekend, and they’re closing off part of North Jefferson Street to do it.
Marketing and Communications Vice President Sherri Valitchka says the Saturday event will feature bounce houses, childrens activities, music, and one very unique event.
“We’re going to open the time capsule that was put into the building, behind the stones, back in the 1920’s,” she told WTAQ.
She says the copper box–which has been warped somewhat by time–will be sawed open and the contents will be revealed around 1:00 pm.
“We do not know [what’s in it],” Valitchka said Tuesday. “It’s completely sealed.”
More info, including a full schedule for the event is available at GreenBayYMCA.org.
