APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Half of a father-son duo charged with operating a drug house was convicted Tuesday and sentenced to ten months in jail.
Ryan Hostettler, 20, pleaded no contest to maintaining a drug trafficking place. He was also placed on probation for three years by Judge Emily Lonergan.
Before the sentence was issued, Hostettler noted he has been clean for about a year, has a job, and has turned his life around.
Jon Hostettler, 49, has a Nov. 1 trial scheduled on the same charge of maintaining a drug trafficking place.
Police executed a search warrant at 1038 W. Spring Street in July 2020, as part of what was described as a year-long investigation.
According to the criminal complaint, the overdose death of Cory Jordan was related to the address. One of Jordan’s friends told police “when Cory relapses on drugs he stays at Ryan Hostettler’s house,” the complaint states. Ryan Hostettler took Jordan to the hospital the night he died. However, neither Hostetler — or anyone else — has been charged directly in connection with that incident.
Ryan Hostettler told police people would often stay at the home and do drugs there, according to the complaint.
