ASHWAUBENON, WI (WTAQ) — The hotly anticipated Wisconsin vs Notre Dame football game, cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be played at Lambeau Field after all.
You’ll have to wait a few years, though.
The University of Notre Dame and University of Wisconsin have agreed to reschedule their neutral-site matchup at Lambeau Field to Sept. 5, 2026.
The Irish and Badgers were originally scheduled to play Oct. 3, 2020, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, the first of a two-year, neutral-site series that would also see the teams play in 2021 at Soldier Field in Chicago. Last year’s game was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, causing several conferences to suspend non-conference games, but this year’s matchup at Soldier Field on Sept. 25, 2021, will take place as scheduled.
The contests will mark the first meetings between Notre Dame and Wisconsin since a three-game series from 1962-64.
