KAUKAUNA –Drivers can showcase their new cars and trucks and fans can mingle and take selfies with the drivers as the popular, pre-season pit party returns to Wisconsin International Raceway in Kaukauna Thursday, May 13 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This free event is open to the public gives race fans the chance to get up close and personal and see the competitors in the different classes who put on a show every Thursday night for the Fox River Racing Club. There will also be some dragsters on display as well.
Divisions that compete on Thursday nights include super late models, late models, ¼ mile late models, super stocks, sizzlin’ 4s, sport trucks and figure 8s.
The season opening race for the FRRC’s ‘Thursday Night Thunder’ is Thursday, May 20. The defending track champions in the respective classes include Montello’s Bobby Kendall (super late model), Neenah’s Braison Bennett (late model), Kaukauna’s Shane Krueger (super stocks), Neenah’s Tom Spierowski (1/4 mile late models), Freedom’s Cody Vanderloop (sport trucks), Appleton’s Scott Wolf (Sizzlin’ 4’s), and West Bend’s Nick Osberg (figure 8’s).
