MANITOWOC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — Two people were arrested Saturday in Manitowoc County after authorities found large amounts of fentanyl and heroin in their car.
In total, officials say they seized 66 grams of fentanyl, 22 grams of “Black Tar” heroin and a small amount of methamphetamine.
Steven James Khail, 35, and Melissa Marie Jagemann, 34, both of Manitowoc, were arrested.
Sheriff’s officials say the Metro Drug Unit received information that Khail and Jagemann were traveling to the Milwaukee area and transporting drugs back to Manitowoc .
Manitowoc County Investigators say they were familiar with the two after previously conducting controlled purchases from them at Manitowoc hotels.
Investigators are recommending Khail and Jagemann be charged with possession of heroin with intent to deliver, possession of fentanyl with intent to deliver and possession of methamphetamine, as well as delivery of heroin and fentanyl resulting from controlled purchases conducted by the Metro Drug Unit last month.
No formal charges have been filed so far.
Manitowoc County says an investigation is still ongoing.
