OSHKOSH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – A father was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for the drunk driving crash which killed his daughter.
Steven Brownell, 61, was previously convicted of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle with prohibited alcohol concentration. He was also placed on extended supervision for seven years.
Brownell’s daughter, Kherington, 9, was killed in the Aug. 10, 2018, crash on Highway 45, while her brother, Kage, 13, was injured.
Brownell’s blood alcohol level was .261, more than three times the legal limit. Brownell’s Mustang left the highway, went airborne, and crashed in a cornfield. One witness estimated he was going at least 100 mph, according to the complaint.
