GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Sentencing was delayed Thursday for Kathryn Friday, who was convicted of perjury in connection with the investigation into the murder of Victoria Prokopovitz.
Citing an order all but eliminating in-person court hearings, and a desire to allow victims to testify in person, Judge Tammy Jo Hock moved the hearing to Nov. 2.
Friday was dating James Prokopovitz when his wife, Victoria, disappeared in 2013. He was charged with her murder in May 2019, even though Victoria’s body has never been found. During the investigation, a secret John Doe hearing was held. Friday lied about the case during her testimony on May 8, 2019.
James Prokopovitz was the last person to see his wife on April 25th, 2013. Investigators say Victoria was reported missing, but her purse, cell phone and ID were all at her home in Pittsfield.
His trial is scheduled for Oct. 12, although with that order limiting in-person court hearings until at least Oct. 13, it is unclear if that will happen. A motions hearing is scheduled for Friday for his case.
