MADISON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — This year’s nominees for the ‘Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin’ contest includes nearly two dozen items made in Northeast Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) released a list of nearly 150 nominees Monday.
Wisconsinites can now cast their vote for their favorite, once a day, online through Sunday, Sept. 20 at 5 p.m.
The first round of finalists will be determine by popular vote.
Some of the local nominees are: Smoked fish from Bearcats Fish House in Algoma, Volleyball Net Barrier from Carron Net Company Inc. in Two Rivers, Empower Field Signage from Jones Sign Company Inc. in De Pere, Nano Preemie Diapers from Kimberly-Clark in Neenah and Predator 1900 Ice Auger from Ice Auger Machines, LLC in Green Bay.
On Sept. 21, the top 16 will be announced and another round of voting will occur.
The winner will be announced Oct. 14.
The annual ‘Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin’ competition aims to highlight the state’s vibrant manufacturing industry.
Previous local winners include: Oshkosh Corporation’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicle in 2017 and Uncle Mike’s Bake Shoppe’s Sea Salt Caramel Pecan Kringle in 2018.
