The Wisconsin Badgers have plenty of talent but inconsistent play cost them Thursday night at the Kohl Center as the Minnesota Gophers left Madison with a 59-52 victory.
Wisconsin got off to a chilly start, trailing 29-14 at the half. The Badgers rallied to climb within 49-47 and then committed turnovers on three straight possessions allowing the Gophers to stretch the lead to 10. They also hurt themselves at the free throw line, making just 7 of 17 for the game.
Ethan Happ had 17 points and 8 rebounds but Brad Davison was held to just two.
Wisconsin has dropped back to back games for the first time this season, falling to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in Big Ten Play. The Badgers travel to Penn State on Sunday night.
