Boys Are Dumb

How many of you ladies have men in your life who have underwear that have been around longer than you?  Bryan, is one of those guys.  He honestly has underwear that he has had since before we started dating.  I find this disturbing.  Our 6 year old daughter Emma this morning, showed me that she has a hole in the bottom of her jeans (you know because they are a little to long so the drag on the ground, and now there is a hole).  She was so proud!  She came up to me and said "look mommy, I have a hole in my pants!! But, I can hide it really good, not like daddy with all the holes in his underwear." I laughed so hard!  Then she very innocently said "why doesn't he just get new underwear?"  To which I responded "honey, I can't answer that, you would have to ask your daddy."  Then as if this was not a funny enough story, she said "I might as well not even bother, boys do dumb things." Wow. So young and yet so wise...it takes some women YEARS to realize that boys are dumb!  So I am glad that I have taught her well. :)

Amazing Night Out

We just got to go see RENT and it was one of the best shows I have ever seen!  And not so sound like an ad for the PAC, but I love going there.  Every single staff member treats you like you are royalty, opening doors for you, smiling at you, and just making sure your experience is a good one.  With all the kids being sick, I really needed a night out and this was perfect.  Sometimes, having to be Mrs Bryan Scott everytime we go out can be frustrating.  I often feel like I don't have my own identity, so getting to somewhere that we can just be Bryan and Nicci is always good.  If you get the chance to go see RENT you really should go, its a great show.  Thanks Bryan for the night out!

It's Beginning To Look Alot Like...

With everyone being sick in our house lately, I haven't really been out much. On Saturday, also known as Halloween, and for the sake of this story I will remind you that Halloween falls in October which is 2 months before Christmas, I got to go to Target to get candy for our trick or treaters. You can imagine my surprise when I turn on the radio to find a Christmas song!!  Not just one, on one station, but NOT STOP on THREE different stations!!! As if that was not enough, when I arrived at Target, I went back by the seasonal stuff to get the candy, and had to walk past their 5 aisles that they already have filled with Christmas trees, lights, cards, etc.  Seriously!? How soon is too soon to start thinking about Christmas!?  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas and the way the season makes everyone feel and the kids being so excited and everything, but it’s too early.  I seriously think we need to have a big clearance Halloween section before we can just move right on to Christmas. Oh, and don't forget about Thanksgiving! Or did they move it and I missed it? So Happy Holidays everyone!!

A Note From Bryan (10/29)

First off, thank you everyone for your well wishes for our son Will.  He is doing good and we seem to have everything controlled at this time.  Second, I have never posted anything on this page before because it's Nicci's way to communicate with you and let you know what happens in our lives that doesn't make it on the air.

The reason I am posting today is to thank Nicci for everything she does for me and the kids.  With my job and the hours I'm gone with my airshift, remotes, bar gigs, weekend appearances, special events and more, she always puts her own career aside and schedules photo shoots around my work schedule and the kids schedules too.  I know, she would say "that's what a mom does," but she really goes above and beyond "what a good mom does!"

She is the first one up when one of the kids is sick and needs something in the middle of the night, even though she hasn't slept good in days because she can't sleep when she knows the kids aren't feeling well.  Sometimes it feels like she is a single mom during the week because I am not around to help her.  Example: My typical weekday...Get up with the kids and get them breakfast, wait for Nicci to get them dressed (I am terrible at matching clothes), take them to school, go to work, return from work after the kids are already in bed, and hang out with Nicci for a couple of hours before going to bed.  Nicci's typical weekday...Get the kids dressed (in matching clothes), do some laundry, clean up after Daddy and the kids made another mess eating breakfast, take care and entertain the boys, facebook, make the kids lunch, clean up after lunch, put the kids down for a nap, watch Days while facebooking, do some more laundry, wake the boys up from their naps, pick up Emma from school, do Emma's homework with her, make supper, clean up after supper, give the kids baths, do some more laundry (we have alot of laundry), put the kids to bed and hang out with me for a couple of hours before going to bed.  Oh, and she makes sure the kids get their wellness check ups, our bills are paid, manages the family schedule, goes grocery shopping, clothes shopping for all of us and more!  All this while trying expand her own photography business!!!

So, when you say to me "Wow, you really put in a lot of hours", I normally tell you it's better than working a "real job"...now you know what I am talking about.  Thank you Nicci for working a "real job!"  I am a very lucky to have Nicci as the glue that holds our family together and allows me to follow my dream of working at Y100!  Nicci, I love you very much and hope that you know how much I truely appreciate what you do for our family!

-Bryan

H1N1 Update (10/28)

As I am sure most of you have heard the H1N1 virus has struck the Scott house!  Emma and Jack both had it last week.  It was really wierd though, Jack just had a fever of 102 for about 3 days, and didn't have any other symptoms at all. Emma on the other hand, was down and out for about a week.  She slept A LOT, had a super bad cough and was just miserable in general.  Yesterday Will woke up with a small fever and within an hour went from fine to struggling with his breathing a 102 temp and just miserable.  Since he had RSV when he was 3 months old and now has asthma and other breathing issues all the time, this was a pretty big deal for him to get.  We were very concerned, took him in right away because his breathing treatments did not seem to be helping.  They checked him over and said that we just have to keep doing what we are doing and he should be fine!  Thank God!  So we are just hanging out at home, taking it easy and hoping that the little guy gets better fast.  Thanks to everyone who sent prayers our way, and keep em coming til he gets better all the way!
